The Arts at Jacksonville

Our commitment to the arts is a cornerstone of the Jacksonville Elementary experience. For over three decades, we have nurtured a rich tradition of integrating arts into our curriculum. Since 1988, our partnership with the Britt Music and Arts Festival has provided students with unparalleled opportunities to explore music and the arts. Each year, our talented music teacher leads our students in stunning performances on the Britt stage, showcasing the creative talents of our community.

In addition to music, our Meet the Master Artist program, now nearing its 20th year, brings the world of visual arts into every classroom. This volunteer-run initiative introduces students to renowned artists and their works, fostering an appreciation for artistic expression from a young age. We are grateful to our volunteers for making this program a resounding success year after year.

Last year, we expanded our commitment to student choice by introducing three rounds of electives, allowing students to explore their interests and take ownership of their learning. Our teachers are also continually seeking ways to integrate art into everyday lessons, ensuring that creativity is woven into the fabric of our curriculum.

A Tradition of Excellence

At Jacksonville Elementary, we pride ourselves on maintaining high academic standards. Our students consistently rank at the top of district and state measures in math and reading. We believe that a strong academic foundation, combined with a love for learning, is the key to our students' success. Research shows that when students are engaged and find joy in their education, attendance improves, and learning outcomes soar. Our dedicated teachers and staff work tirelessly to create an environment where every student can thrive.

A School of Choice

As a “School of Choice,” we are proud to offer our unique educational approach to families across the district. While space is limited for the current school year, we encourage interested families to apply for enrollment and join our waiting list for the upcoming year. Our emphasis on the arts not only enhances our core academic curriculum but also creates a joyful, engaging learning environment that inspires students to excel.

At Jacksonville Elementary, we are committed to cultivating a love of learning in every student, empowering them to reach their full potential in a supportive and dynamic community.
