Storytelling

Core content standards, specifically language arts and social studies, are integrated through the art of storytelling. Students memorize Native American folktales and perform storytelling for their peers and families.

Readers Theater

Through readers theater, students learn to expressively engage their audience while practicing reading fluency.

Plays

Students perform on- and off-script plays at every grade level. In addition to stage performances, students learn elements of theater production and teamwork.

Behind the scenes

Students learn the many jobs that go on behind the scenes, including set design, stage management, lighting, choreography, and sound production.

Musical performance

All intermediate students perform in our annual musical on the Britt Stage. Students are mentored by experienced professionals in preparation for this event.

Dramatic experiences

Improv games, pantomimes, living pictures, and puppets are just a few of the ways students are encouraged to learn through expression.
